'Rural Facade' is a body of work that depicts a scenario where an urban sub-culture, represented by graffiti, would have made its way from the cities to the unexpected rural environments and try to fit in the landscapes.
This mixed media photographic art project, is made from photographs of graffiti from urban areas and layered on top of a rural scene. The technique paper tole, where parts of an image are repeated and layered above each other, creates a three dimensional effect. I use this effect mainly on the graffiti which pushes it away from the surface to represent that it has yet to fit in the environment. Parts of the scene are also raised slightly to complement the effect and tie it altogether.
